Edward R. C. Classen
Edward R. C. Classen, 87, died Nov. 13, 2009, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. He was born March 8, 1922, to Peter L. and Sarah Reimer Classen in Meade Co. On July 30, 1944, he married Sara Reimer at Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade. She died April 2, 2006. Survivors include: three children, Regina Yoder, Marjorie Sommerfeld and husband Lyle, and Dale and wife Anita; two brothers, Levi, and Clarence; five sisters, Agnes Schertz, Linda Goossen, Dora Ehmann, Alvera Thiessen and Evelyn Fisher; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston. The family will greet friends following the service. Private family burial in Hesston Cemetery. Memorials to Schowalter Villa or Victory in the Valley, both in care of Miller Funeral Home, Hesston.
