Ronald Duane Cravens
Ronald Duane Cravens, age 69, died early Thursday morning, October 29, 2009, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas.
He was born March 27, 1940, at Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Ira C. “Cap” and Geneva P. (Singley) Cravens. As a young boy he attended the Heart Spring/Wichita Institute of Logapedics from 1945-1955. He later attended the Plains school system, graduating from Plains High School in 1962. Upon his graduation, he began his career as a farmer and a rancher.
He was a member of the Plains United Methodist Church and the Young at Heart, both of Plains. Ronald enjoyed fishing, crafts, and automobiles.
He is survived by Larry Selby, Edith Kruse, Elliott Stanton, Leon Stanton, and Bill Bolan and families.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel, Meade, Kansas. Interment was in the Plains Cemetery, Plains.
The family would welcome memorials to the Young at Heart, Lone Tree Retirement Center, or Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
