Mae Fern Edwards Lett
Mae Fern Edwards Lett, age 102, died early Saturday morning, November 28, 2009, at the Fowler Nursing Home.
She was born January 21, 1907, in rural Meade County, Kansas, the daughter of Purn and Clarabell (Zortman) Edwards.  As a young girl, she attended the Fowler school system, graduating from Fowler High School.  A lifetime resident of Meade County living within seven miles of her birthplace her entire life and was a homemaker.   
She was a member of the Fowler Christian Church and the Rebekah Lodge, receiving her fifty year pin and serving as a past noble grand.
On August 21, 1929, she married Robert E. Lett at Fowler.  He preceded her in death on May 2, 1966.
Survivors include: A son, Van E. Lett and wife, Mary of Salina, Kansas; A daughter, Karen E. Lynde and husband, Bob of Weatherford, Oklahoma; A brother, P.D. Edwards of rural Fowler, Kansas; Three grandchildren, Rick Lett of Lawrence, Kansas, Mike Lett of Salina, Kansas, and Russ Lynde of Weatherford, Oklahoma; Five great-grandchildren, Matthew Lett, Jacob Lett, Tyler Lett, Chris Lett, and Andreya Sobby.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and five sisters, Jessie Shorgrin, Blanche Hantla, Georgia Barry, Myrtle Schuster, and Viola Flynn.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009, at the Fowler Christian Church, Fowler, with Brother Ken Pitzer presiding. Interment was in the Fowler Cemetery.
The family would welcome memorials to the Fowler Christian Church or the Fowler Nursing Home in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
