A. Dale “Pool” Vanderpool
A. Dale “Pool” Vanderpool, age 54, died early Friday morning, September 25, 2009, at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.
He was born September 7, 1955, at Meade, Kansas, the son of William Marshal and Mary Alene (Lloyd) Vanderpool.  As a young boy he attended school in Meade, Kansas, graduating from Meade High School in 1973.  After his graduation he furthered his education by attending Seward County Community College, Liberal, Kansas.
He was an Operator A for Panhandle Easter for twenty-three years.  He later began Pool’s Carts and Parts in 1993, and owned and operated Suburban Lanes bowling alley in Meade since 1998.
Dale enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Meade Golf Course
On May 10, 1975, he married Sandy Venard at the United Methodist Church, in Plains, Kansas.  She survives.
Other survivors include: Two sons, Shane Vanderpool of Meade, Kansas and Trevis Vanderpool of Hugoton, Kansas; Two brothers, Scott Vanderpool of Meade, Kansas and Troy Vanderpool of Kansas City, Kansas; A sister, Janice Smith of Fowler, Kansas; Three grandchildren, Ondraya, Nathan, and Aubree.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at the Untied Methodist Church, Plains, Kansas. Interment was in the Plains Cemetery, Plains, Kansas.
The family would welcome memorials to the National Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
