Mazo Lula Eccleston
Mazo Lula Eccleston, age 90, died late Friday evening, September 3, 2010, at the Minneola District Hospital, Minneola, Kansas.
She was born April 18, 1920, at Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Rosa (McGuire) Marrs.  As a young girl she attended the Fowler school system, graduating from Fowler High School.  A lifetime resident of Fowler, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Wilburn Unit of HDU/EHU of Ford County, 4-H, and served as a leader when her children became members of Brownie and Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and 4-H.  She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking/preserving, sewing, geology, crafts, crocheting, photography, playing cards, square and round dancing, bird watching, collecting and reading cookbooks & recipes, dog and fowl figurines, and enjoyed receiving cards and letters.
On December 24, 1941, she married Aaron L. Eccleston at Fowler, Kansas.  He survives.
Other survivors include: A son, Sheldon Eccleston of Fowler, Kansas; Two daughters, Fransiska L. Durant of Dodge City, Kansas, Renae L. Laneer of Fowler, Kansas; Two sisters, Ruby Whatley of Dodge City, Kansas, Rosetta Thompson of Plains, Kansas; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Franklin Marrs, Marion Marrs, and Roy Marrs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at the Fowler Christian Church with Brother Ken Pitzer presiding. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.
The family would welcome memorials to the Fowler Christian Church in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
