Myrtle Lavaughn “Bobby” Haislip
Longtime Wallace County, Kansas, resident Myrtle Lavaughn “Bobby” Haislip, 88, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.
Bobby was born April 30, 1922, in Fowler Township in Meade County, Kansas, the daughter of Noah and Agnes Irene (Boyd) Mahieu.  She graduated from high school in Fowler in 1940.
She and Travis Jack “T.J.” Haislip were married at Spokane, Washington.  They made their home in Wallace County, Kansas, beginning in 1954.  Together, they raised and raced horses, and ranched cattle, as well.  She enjoyed gardening and sharing that bounty with family and friends.  Sharing time with friends over a cup of coffee was especially enjoyed.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Sharon Springs.
Preceding her in death were her husband Travis Jack “T.J.” Haislip, son Travis James “T.J.” Haislip, granddaughter Tricia Ita and grandson-in-law Thad Ita, her parents, sister Alene Keen, and brother Gene Mahieu.
Surviving family includes her son Gary Haislip, his wife Donna, and their granddaughter Jaelyn Ita, all of Wallace; four grandchildren Justin Haislip, his wife Michele, and their children Trey and Carli, all of Benkelman, Nebraska; Lorie Reed, her husband Pat, and their sons Cody and Josh, all of Salina;  Travis Haislip, his wife Kim, and their sons Dawson, Dustin, and Heisman, all of San Diego, California; Jodi Chaput, her husband  Daran, and their children Morgan, Malin, and Grant, all of Shawnee; and one sister Lorene Hatfield of Fowler.
The funeral was Tuesday, December 14, at 10:00 AM MT, at the Wesleyan Church in Sharon Springs, with Pastor Bill Ball and Reverend Paul McNall officiating.  Burial followed in the Wallace Cemetery.
