Robert J. Riedel
Robert J. Riedel, age 79, died Friday afternoon, June 25, 2010, at the Meade District in Meade, Kansas.
He was born February 26, 1931, in rural Russell County, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Brown) Riedel.  A resident of Plains since 1959, he was the owner and operator of R & R Lease Service, Inc of Plains. 
He was a member of the Catholic faith.  Robert enjoyed his family, gardening, working on small engines, and working with his hands. 
On September 2, 1950, he married Norma JoAnn Wagner at Russell, Kansas.  She survives. 
Other survivors include: A son, Bob Riedel and wife Marlene of Ottawa, Kansas; Two daughters, Debbie McVay and husband David of Plains, Kansas, Susan Holt and husband Craig of Booker, Texas; Three brothers, Ronnie Riedel of Cottonwood, Arizona, Kenneth Riedel of Burbank, California, Dick Riedel of Surprise, Arizona; Ten grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Riedel on April 5, 1993; and his parents.
Rosary was held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Plains.  Private family inurnment will be in the Plains Cemetery at a later date.
The family would welcome memorials to the Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
