Mrs. Edith Lois Schlichting, 90, of Meade, passed away Friday, July 2nd, 2010 at Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Meade County, KS..
She was born Oct. 25,1919 at Burr Oak KS. the daughter of Irving and Minnie Jones Overman. She attended school at Burr Oak and graduated from the Fowler High School, she was a homemaker
She was the widow of Abe Schlichting. whom she married August 19, 1939
Edith is survived by two sons Don Schlichting (Patricia) of Meade, Kansas., Karl Schlichting of Meade, Kansas; sister Rachel Baker of Ashland, Kansas; 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Abe, son Bobby, five Brothers and two sisters. Edith loved to bowl, play cards, and sing with the Golden Notes, She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Meade, KS, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 7th, with Reverend Ken Harder officiating. Interment will follow at Minneola Cemetery Minneola, KS.
