Donald Paul Weaver
Donald Paul Weaver, 87 years old, died September 26, 2010 in Richardson, Texas.
Donald was born March 17, 1923 in Johnsonville, IL.  He was the oldest son of John and Hazel Weaver.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Josserand, and an infant brother.  He was a resident of Meade, KS, where he was a farmer. In 2007, he moved to Richardson, TX to be near his son, Lyndal.
Donald was a veteran and served in the Navy during World War II from 1943-1946.  He was a Second Lieutenant and served in the Pacific theater.  Aboard the U.S.S. Newberry he was involved in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.  After the war ended, he served as captain of the U.S.S. Wakulla. 
Donald married Ruth Bogle on December 31, 1964.  He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lyndal and Kristi Weaver of Richardson, TX and 2 grandchildren, Lyndsey and Chase Weaver;  a step daughter, Dianne Sheetz of Minneola, KS and a step son, Leonard Bogle of Middletown, CA.  He has 4 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; 2 nieces, Esta Bucher, Lark Hallum and one nephew, Mark Gillen. 
Donald was a member of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ of Dallas.  He was a graduate of Meade High School and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9th, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel, Meade.
The family would welcome memorials to the Beam Senior Citizen Center in Meade in care of the funeral home.
